Hwy. 169 crash sends Le Sueur and Minneapolis men to HCMC with life threatening injuries

Le Sueur News Herald:

Two men received severe injuries from a crash on Hwy. 169 in the early hours of Tuesday.

John David Schultz, 75, of Le Sueur, the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with life threatening injuries. A passenger in the other vehicle, Eugene Junior Robinson, 31, of Minneapolis, was also taken to HCMC with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle Robinson was in, Danajia Mae Mcdonald, 21, of Duluth, and a second passenger, Dshaya Andrea Jones, 27, of Minneapolis, both received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Ridgeview Medical Center.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, Schultz was driving a Chrysler Town and Country van along Doppy Lane, which intersects with Hwy. 169 across the road from the Cambria building. Schultz’s vehicle reportedly failed to yield when crossing the southbound lanes of Hwy. 169. That caused the 1995 Chevy Blazer, driven by Mcdonald, to collide with the van.

All were wearing seat belts, according to the State Patrol report, and no alcohol was involved from any drivers or passengers. Airbags in both vehicles were deployed.
