Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am with Father Tom Niehaus officiating. Interment will be in St. Wencelsaus Cemetery in New Prague.
Ludmilla was born in New Prague on December 6, 1930 to Edward and Elizabeth (Minar) Korbel. She attended country school in rural New Prague and later graduated from New Prague High School. Ludmilla was united in marriage to John Korbel in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Sylvia on May 28, 1957 at the Church of St. Wencelsaus in New Prague. Ludmilla was a lifelong resident of the Montgomery/ New Prague area. Ludmilla embraced the farm life and she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, bird watching, fishing, and helping people in any way she could. Up until this year she maintained a large garden and she always generously shared her garden produce with the whole neighborhood each summer. Unless the rabbits win, her garden will continue to supply the neighborhood this year. Her friends and neighbors also shared their bounty with her. Whenever she got apples in the fall, she gave everyone she knew a pie. Her philosophy was waste not, want not, which came from growing up during the depression years. Ludmilla was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery and a member of the Twin Lakes Sportsman Club.
Ludmilla loved her family and friends dearly. Ludmilla is survived by three children, Patti (Phil) Sheridan, Anita Korbel, John (Terri Ellen) Korbel all of Montgomery; grandchildren, Jessica and Phil Sheridan.
Ludmilla is preceded in death by her husband, John Korbel; sisters, Antonia Minar and Sylvia Sticha; brothers, Joseph and John Minar.
