Engel gets big hit as White Sox top Twins 3-1


CHICAGO (AP) — Adam Engel delivered a tiebreaking pinch-hit single in the eighth inning, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 3-1 to increase their lead in the AL Central.

Nelson Cruz came to the plate with bases loaded twice when the game was tied 1-1, but struck out once and grounded out once as the Twins left 14 runners on base in the loss.

Game two of the four game series is tonight, Randy Dobnak will start for the Twins who trail the White Sox by two games in the Central Division. 6:30 pregame, 7:10 first pitch.
