Former Minnesota Golden Gophers forward Daniel Oturu became the first men’s basketball player to be drafted in 16 years when the Minnesota Timberwolves selected him with the 33rd overall pick in the NBA Draft.¬†Although the Timberwolves selected him, Oturu first was traded to the New York Knicks as part of a deal that helped the Wolves trade up to select Leandro Bolmero. The Knicks then traded the big man to the Clippers, where he will reunite with former Gopher Amir Coffey.
