Gerald “Jerry” L Leidner
Jerry Leidner, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home in Elko New Market. Preceded in death just two weeks earlier by his loving wife of 62 years, Louise; parents, Carl and Agnes Leidner; brother, Carl Leidner.
Jerry was born on November 3, 1936 in Farmington, Minnesota. He grew up in Northfield and attended Northfield High School. He served in the Army National Guard. In 1958 he married Louise (Linkert) and they lived in Rosemount and later in Apple Valley. In 1980 they moved to their hobby farm in the Northfield area where he enjoyed taking care of a variety of animals. Jerry was the owner of Leidner Decorating and made a living as a painting contractor. There was nothing he liked more than being in the company of his family and friends. He used any occasion to have a party and it was always a lively event with his favorite old time music playing.
Jerry was loved by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by daughter Jodi (Doug); sons Jeff and Jon (Sue); grandchildren Lisa (Adam), Dustin (Mallory), Mitchell, Matthew, Jacob and Daniel; great grandchildren Mackenzy, Carter and Declan; brother, Earl (Gloria) Leidner; sisters, Darlene Schuman, Shirley (Kenny) Barnes, Judy (Dean) Morlock, Phyllis Bolton, Janice Resop, Eileen Hanson and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 7:00 PM at White Funeral Home in Lakeville, MN with visitation two hours prior. Burial will be in Lebanon Hills Cemetery at a later date.
