Shakopee Valley News:
Two Chaska women are in critical condition following what police believe was an alcohol-involved crash at highways 169 and 41 southwest of Shakopee in Jackson Township early Monday morning.
Tracie Ann Peterson, 49, and Hanna Joy Peterson, 18, both have life-threatening injuries, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report. Tracie was the driver and Hanna the passenger of a Nissan Altima that was hit at 5:17 am as the car made a turn from eastbound Highway 41 to northbound Highway 169.
The other car involved, a Honda Accord, was driven by a 25 year-old Shakopee man named Mohamed Adbirahman Abdilahi. Abdilahi was traveling down the southbound lane of Highway 169 at the point of collision. The report indicates Abdilahi had alcohol in his system at the time of the accident. He sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Tracie was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center and Hanna was taken to St. Francis for their injuries.
Abdilahi was booked into the Scott County Jail at 7:54 a.m. He was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm and a misdemeanor for driving on a revoked license.
