Mall of America closing Nickelodeon Universe theme park. Stores may alter hours for coronavirus outbreak

Twin Cities Pioneer Press:

The Mall of America said Monday it will shut down its Nickelodeon Universe theme park on Wednesday through the end of the month amid the coronavirus outbreak — and leave the decision on whether to reduce hours or close all together up to the stores themselves.

The decision to shutter the nation’s largest indoor theme park comes after management of the Bloomington mega-mall held a webinar Monday with tenants on the plan.

“We understand that this decision impacts countless visitors — including families who may have planned their spring break vacation here — as well as other tenants, the surrounding hotels and hospitality industry, and most importantly all of our employees,” a mall statement read.
