Mary Francis (Loke) Haan, age 83 of Farmington, MN passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018. Mary was born August 24, 1935 in Tracy, MN; the daughter of Peter B. and Alma M. (Hendricks) Loke. She attended school in Marshall, MN. She was united in marriage to Donald Nichlaus Haan on June 25, 1955, in Marshall, MN, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She moved with her family to Farmington, MN, in 1961. Mary worked for the Farmington School District for 25 years, where her greatest joy was serving and visiting with the students as they went through the hot lunch line. Mary was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was an active member in the Castle Rockers’ Club, chairperson for the Dakota County Horticulture Fair exhibits, and a member of the Master Garden Club.
She enjoyed baking with her family, growing vegetables with her sons, gardening flowers with her daughters, watching her bluebirds, and visiting with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed dancing at area polka bands with her husband and friends.She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years of marriage, Donald N.; children; Christine (Scott) Hamblin, Northfield, MN; Mark (Kristine) Haan, Osceola, WI; Karen (Tom) Marek, Faribault, MN; Francis (Debra) Haan, Northfield, MN; Elaine Haan Mathias, Eloy, AZ; Jacquelyn (Randall) Bergeson, Darlington, WI; Brett Haan, Northfield, MN; Charles (Michelle) Haan, Dundas, MN; Donald (Cheryl) Haan, Farmington, MN; Laurie (Steve) Underdahl, Northfield, MN; Melissa (Glenn) Betzold, Farmington, MN; Bridget (Joel) Rostad, Zumbrota, MN; Gregory (Sheila) Haan, Hammond, WI; David (Christina) Haan, Hastings, MN; Mary (Brett) Klavon, Cannon Falls, MN; Annalise (Keith) Quinnell, Northfield, MN; Michael (Kristi) Haan, Osceola, WI; 45 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Peter B. and Alma M. Loke; siblings Elizabeth Loke, Louise (Loke) DeBaer, Francis (Loke) Jandl, Dennis Loke; sons Brian and Peter William Haan; grandsons Travis and Justin Haan; and son-in-law Jack Larscheid.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday Nov. 21 2018 at Church of St. Michael, 22120 Denmark Ave., Farmington with visitation on Tuesday (11/20) from 4-8 PM at the White Funeral Home, 901 3rd St. Farmington (651-463-7374) also 1 hr. prior to Mass at church. Interment, church cemetery. In lieu flowers, Mary would like to have a memorial in her wishes.
