LONSDALE NEWS REVIEW
Dropping temperatures didn’t prevent 85 guests from attending the Lonsdale Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner at the Lakeside Supper Club in Montgomery Tuesday evening. In fact, the crowd exceeded last year’s 78 attendees.
Guests enjoyed appetizers and entrees as well as cheesecake provided by Steele-Waseca Cooperative as they gathered in celebration of the Lonsdale Chamber’s accomplishments in the past year.
As one of the main events of the evening, Chamber Executive Director Shanna Gutzke-Kupp announced the winner of the 2018 Business of the Year Award. The honor, she said, “integrates a business more fully into the community.” Nine businesses received nominations, but Lonsdale Auto Works took home the honor. Business owner Scott Pelava and his wife, Sandy, accepted the award on behalf of the business, which began operating nearly 13½ years ago. Employee Michelle Borchardt, who also accepted the award, is a Tri-City United School Board member.
