Shakopee police offer reward for information about weekend car vandal

More than 30 people around Shakopee this weekend had their cars vandalized by what appears to be a perpetrator with a BB gun, according to Shakopee police.

The police department is offering a $500 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the vandal or vandals at large.

The vandalism incidents took place between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Police received more than 30 calls about property damage to vehicles, and multiple car windows were completely shattered by what looks like a BB.

Crime Prevention Specialist Nicole Clifton said as of Monday there are no suspects, and the department will need the public’s help.

“We’re asking the public’s help to locate these people. If they do notice something or want us to get involved they can call our main line (at 952-233-9400) or do it anonymously through TIP411. We’re just waiting on the public. We don’t have any leads or suspects at this time,” Clifton said.

Police are also asking folks with security cameras to check their footage and see if they caught any suspicious activity during the Friday to Saturday time frame.

The Shakopee Police Department’s Facebook page and this story will be updated as more information becomes available.
